Doctor

  • Roark Freeman , DVM, CVPM


    Dr. Freeman enjoys working with both pets and their owners and emphasizes the preventive medicine approach to pet health care.  He lives in Fremont with his wife and two children and their many pets, including several dogs, a number of cats, a parrot, a guinea pig, 5 horses and a goat.

    Credentials and Accomplishments:

    1977 BS in Veterinary Science, University of California, Davis

    1979 Graduate of the University of California, Davis (DVM)

    1994 Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association

    Founder of Vets & Pets Animal Hospital, Santa Clara, CA (1983) and All About Pets Animal Care, Union City, CA (1998).

    Former chair of the Santa Clara County Animal Advisory Commision and Past President of the Santa Clara County Veterinary Medical Association.

    Small Animal Veterinarian, providing services to dogs, cats, birds and small and exotic pets.

Management

  • Jennifer , Hospital Manager


    Jennifer started working for All About Pets as the Client Services Director in 2004.  In 2006 she took on the role of Hospital Manager.

     

    Jennifer has a Bachelor’s of Art degree in Psychology from Cal State Hayward, with an emphasis in animal behavior.

     

    She has two rescue cats of her own, Cleo and Annie.

     

    Her hobbies include horseback riding, biking, 4-wheeling, reading, watching movies, traveling, and shopping for shoes.

Technician

  • David , RVT


    David earned his Associates of Scienes egree in Veterinary Technology and then went on to get his licensure through the state of California as a Registered Veterinary Technician. He has been with All About Pets since 2000.
     
    His true passion is wildlife animals, and birds of prey in particular.  He is currently managing the Ohlone Wildlife Center, but occasionally will still help out around the hospital covering shifts and such.
     
    David entered this field to get out of the pet trade industry and to help educate the public about the care of animals, husbandry, and health and medical issues of the voiceless. 

  • Joanne , Veterinary Technician


    Joanne has been a Veterinary Technician at All About Pets since 2002.  She began her training at a local veterinary specialist's office just before joining All About Pets.
     
    She enjoys travel when she is able to do so, and looks forward to retirement when she can aspire to travel the world.
     
    Joanne has always wanted to work in this field.  So after years of managing retail stores, she was offered an opportunity to train as a vet tech and jumped at the chance.  Because veterinary work is her passion, she constantly strives to excel at her job.
     
    Joanne has two pets: Chica (a rescue dog from Furry Friends) and Baby (a Dusky Conure).

  • Stephanie , Veterinary Technician, Shift Leader


    Stephanie has been a Veterinary Technician for many years.  She began working for us in 1998, and with only a short break in between, has been back with us since 2006.  She started in this field as a kennel worker at only 14 years old.  She moved up into technician work, including emergency medicine.  She has also worked with large animals such as horses, cows, sheep, goats, and llamas.  She has also spent some time working at the Oakland SPCA.
     
    She has volunteered at Ohlone Wildlife and the Red Cross.  On her own, she has also raised many litter of abandoned puppies and kittens.
     
    Her ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian.  Stephanie has earned her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and is currently attending San Francisco State to fulfill her prerequisites for Veterinary School.
     
    In her free time, Stephanie has many interests: dancing, swimming, camping, bowling, and going to the ocean to surf, boogie board, and body surf.
     
    She spends most of her time with her husband and their four-footed children:  Sebastian (a Husky mix), Tiffany (a German Shephard mix), Paddington (a Chocolate Lab), 6 cats, 2 bearded dragons, and a fat-tailed Gecko.

  • Ashley , Veterinary Assistant


    Ashley has been working for All About Pets as a Veterinary Assistant for about 3 years.  Like most people in this field, her love of animals and need to work closely with them guided her into this line of work.  She provides assistance to our technical staff as well as maintains our kennels and boarding area.

     

    She received her initial training at the Fremont Regional Occupational Program where she completed the Veterinary Assistant Certificate.  Now Ashley enjoys all she learns from her experiences at All About Pets (from fellow staff members as well as patients). 

     

    Ashley has acquired many pets over the years: 3 dogs, 5 cats, 2 snakes and a variety of other reptiles. 

     

    When she isn’t playing with her pets, she enjoys painting masks, reading, cross-stitching, and swimming.

  • Leticia , Veterinary Technician, Shift Leader


    Leticia first started volunteering at All About Pets in 1998.  She was hired on as a staff member shortly after that.  After relocating, she left for a short while but returned in 2007.
     
    She, like all our staff, has a true passion for animals.  Her other passion is event planning.  In the future she would like to work also as an Event Planner, organizing conferences, parties, meetings, etc.
     
    Leticia has attended several veterinary conferences, but most of her training has been on-the -job since she started at such a young age.
     
    She has 4 cats and 2 dogs.  In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and meeting new people...and she just loves to go Salsa dancing!

  • Neptina


    Neptina (Tina) has been a veterinary technician for over a year and a half, since she began working at All About Pets.  Tina is currently enrolled at Western Career College where she is earning her AS degree in order to take teh state test to become a licensed Registered Veterinary Technician.

    Tina loves animals of every species, but has a particular fondness for dogs.  In her lifetime she has taken care of and found good homes for more than 30 dogs.  She currently has a litter of puppies, 2 teen and 2 adult dogs along with a Goffin Cockatoo.

    Tina loves staying busy and working hard.  She has a tennage daughter who deeps her pretty busy but during her free time she likes to hang out with her family, human and animal as well as with her friends.  She also enjoys reading, watching movies, singing and dancing.

    Neptina has hopes of passing her state exams and dreams of becoming an RVT and hopefully opening up a low-cost clinic of her own.


Reception

  • Amanda


    Amana S. has been working at All About Pets since 2006.  She attended the Mission Valley Regional Occupation Program to receive her Veterinary Assistant Certificate.  She also has experience from another hospital that she worked at for over 2 years.
     
    Her aspirations are to be a vet tech and to someday own a little farm.
     
    In her spare time, Amanda enjoys going to the beach with her dog, reading and just being outdoors.
     
    Her pets include 5 cats and a rottie-boxer mix.  All of her pets came to her as recsue animals and all needed to be bottle-fed.
     
    She is a dedicated and hard worker that loves to stay busy.

  • Amanda


    Amanda C. has worked part-time at All About Pets since 2006.  She also keeps a full-time job at another local veterinary clinic.
     
    She was trained at the Regional Occupational Program in high school and has been in the field ever since.
     
    Amanda has ambitions to go back to school to futher her education.
     
    Her pets include 5 loving cats, 4 high-spirited dogs, 3 horses, and a bird.

  • Diana


    Animals have always been of great interest to me ever since I was a little girl.  My senior year of high school I decided to take a veterinary assistant class and began working at All About Pets as an intern.  A few months after the course ended, I was given the opportunity to come back to join the team as a staff member.


Grooming

  • Heidi , Groomer


    Heidi has been grooming at All About Pets for over 5 years.  She began her grooming career at the Contra Costa Zoological Society and now has 30 years of experience grooming dogs, cats, and exotic pets.  She won first place in a San Francisco grooming competition and second place in Sacramento competition.  She used to breed and show various types of dogs, and now she has a passion for breeding and riding paint and quarter horses.  Animals have always been a constant in her life.  Currently she owns several cats and horses.


  • Kari , Groomer


    With an ambitious start, Kari began grooming in junior high school while working for her parents at their local pet grooming business to earn money for school clothes and a car.  As time passed she realized that she enjoyed working with animals, and she was good at what she did.  Kari too has a passion for animals, owning 2 dogs, 2 catsand a goldfish. 

     

    Her experience in the grooming profession span over 25 years.  She has had experience with most breeds of dogs as well as cats and other small animals.

     

    Kari is married with 3 children.  Her hobbies include horses, cars and construction, her most recent adventure including buiilding homes for Habitat for Humanity.
